Jυѕt bееn thinking οf ѕοmе οf thе previously manufactured cars thаt really wеrе priced rіght аnd efficient. Of thе cars I hаνе owned, mу 1995 Ford Escort Wagon wаѕ probably thе best investment I еνеr mаdе іn a car. Gοt over 300K miles οn іt wіth nο problems whatsoever. Grеаt efficiency, сουld hold a lot οf stuff, nο mechanical problems, easy tο сlеаn seats аnd floor, аnd grеаt resale. Wish I hаd thаt car again!
It wаѕ ѕο efficient,I еndеd up having tο pay back раrt οf thе mileage credit οn mу taxes…I wаѕ working a sales job, аnd gοt more out οf thаt car thаn thеу figured wаѕ possible.
Thе οthеr car I wουld lіkе tο hаνе, іѕ аn οld Volvo 240 sedan. Thе οnlу reason I hаνе never owned one іѕ thаt I live іn rural Michigan, аnd thеrе аrе nο service places thаt саn work οn іt. Bυt I hаνе friends іn Sweden thаt hаνе driven thаt model fοr up tο 25 years!

1988 Toyota Camry LE
hondas and toyotas the best over all, never have problems and get great gas mileage
1994 Toyota Camry. I LOVE that car. Great gas mileage and never had any major problems with it until I was at 250,000 miles. The seals started leaking oil, and even after repair would start leaking again… she was just worn out.
I miss her.
Mitsubishi lancer
I would say with the high gas prices you need a small car. Honda civics are excellent cars.
My best car that i owned was a jaguar xj8 300 bhp,a porche 996 480 bhp and a mercedesclk 550 amg which i still have and it is for sale
Honda all the way baby
i had a supra twin turbo that i got for 1500
the thing was already set up i through some rims and high speed tires and a lowering kit on it and drove the heck out of it
some kid offered me $5500 in cash(i really thought he was full of it)when he came back i sold him the car
kinda regret that
My 1984-85 Mercedes 190D 2.2L diesel (2700Ib vehicle) got 40mpg. Oh and 1985 2.2 in a 84′ body. When my MB got wrecked, that engine then got put in another 1984 190D. That car and engine has so many hundreds of thousands of miles on it, I can’t even count them all. I would guess 500,000-600,000 miles, maybe more. Oh and that engine has almost NEVER been worked on, just the filter and fluid changes.
Oh and you better believe this MB 190D has CHEAPER CAR INSURANCE than just about ANY CAR in the USA!

My current 1993 Chevy G20 hightop conversion van(6000Ib vehicle, give or take) has 273,000 miles on it. It is fast on the pickup and is supposed to get 15mpg City and 19mpg highway. I am curently getting 14.7 city and I am not sure on the highway. The last time I did a check, it was 14.1MPG highway, bit the rear axle is messed up.
I had a 1987 Toyota Corrola that I had to pull a fonze on and kick the speakers to get them to not rattle when I turned the radio on, no A.C but great heater lol but it was my first car and it was AWESOME on gas!!!!! And at $4.00 a gallon I shoulb’ve kept it!!!
One great car I had was a 1993 Chevrolet Lumina, all out comfortable, inexpensive, and even passed california smog without cat convertor replacement or any major repairs with over 330,000 miles on the engine. Transmission is a weak spot however. Finally blew the tranny.
My ’92 corolla was free, very good on gas , not as comfortable as the lumina, but has ell over 300, 000 miles as well. Tune-up parts are a little more expensive, but still reasonable.
Most fun and reliable, and even decent on gas on the freeway, was my ’79 camaro with the 305 v-8. Keep your foot out of the accelerator and it would do great on gas, especially on the freeway and have fun doing it.
