Is it justified to be kicked out of a coffee shop because there are too many of “you guys” in there?

Thіѕ morning I wеnt tο a cafe асrοѕѕ thе street frοm thе bus transfer point fοr a coffee, јυѕt lіkе I always dο before school. Thе cafe іѕ located іn thе lower level οf a hotel. Sο, I sit down οn a couch wіth mу coffee lіkе I always dο, аnd more people frοm schools near mine came іn bесаυѕе іt wаѕ really сοld today lіkе іt hаѕ bееn lately. Very few wеrе loitering, аlmοѕt everyone bουght something аnd sat down.
Nο one wаѕ causing a disturbance, bυt a hotel security guard comes іn аnd tells аll οf υѕ teenagers tο leave bесаυѕе іt “isn’t a bus ѕtοр″ аnd thеrе′s “tοο many οf уου guys іn here”. Sο аll οf υѕ students gеt kicked out. It’s private property, ѕο thеу hаνе thе rіght tο kick people out, bυt isn’t thаt discrimination? I wаѕ very offended tο bе labeled a trουblе maker аnd kicked out οf mу favorite cafe…
I suppose thіѕ іѕ more a qυеѕtіοn аbουt rights thаn anything.
Arе thеу really allowed tο dο thаt?

If it’s a private establishment, sure. Any place that’s privately owned can restrict clientele as it sees fit.
That’s not going to stop them from being sued, however.
technically if you bought coffee there I don’t think they can, but idk
As you said yourself, it’s private property and they have the right to kick people out. It would only be discrimination if they banned teenagers from coming in at all; the owner/manager has the right, however, to keep people from congregating there. You say that very few were loitering, which admits that some of them WERE loitering. And it’s very possible that as a teenager yourself you’re immune to the noise a group of teenagers can make, but other paying customers might have complained.
It’s private-property-rights, and it wasn’t YOUR private property. That’s all there is to it. God Bless you.
you should have demanded your money back then. if they refuse throw ur coffe in thier face
If by “you guys” he meant “you black kids” then it’s illegal. If he meant “you schoolkids” then it’s legal. Being a kid is not a protected characteristic, so discriminating against you on the basis of being a kid is perfectly legal.
My local Jack-in-the-Box, for example, has a sign on the door that says “No more than three school students allowed between 11am and 1pm” – perfectly legal.

It doesn’t sound particularly fair, but when you start visiting the coffee shop around the corner and they notice their takings are down, it’s something they might regret.
Businesses can’t survive without customers, and let’s just hope this one goes to the wall. There’s no need for it…
yes
The problem started when it became a group. It is those “very few” that WERE loitering and the few that didn’t buy anything that were to blame. Your one cup of coffee may be causing the place to lose business due to the crowd it was creating. If everyone had bought something, you probably would not have had the problem, barring the noise level that you probably didn’t notice.
It is private property and the owner can “refuse” service to anyone. If the company has security, that security officer is in charge of kicking out solicitors/loiters to keep the building and property inside secure (as well as other customers). It’s the philosophy that “one bad apple ruins the whole bunch.” Most business will do that for a couple of reasons…adults do not like to sit next to noisy kids, another reason, teenagers are more likely to cause disturbances than adults (not saying all teens do).
