However, this were the times i had my car repaired: a 2009 nissan altima sedan
1. in December 2009, i was driving to my university, and as i was driving i hit a deer, but not from the front of my car, it was from the side of my car. The deer somehow was crossing the highway, and leaped/ran into the side of my car, where it scratched the front side door and dented a bit the rear side passenger door as well. The insurance even said it wasn’t my fault, and covered the costs, since i obviously was not going to leave my car with a dent and scratch.
2. in December 2010, my sister was driving me to my final since i stood up all night (yep i am responsible when i drive), and she was rear-ended by a car, since there was a traffic detour. Initially, moments before my car got re-ended, i had told my sister to move to the right lane, since the guy who would eventually rear-end us was speeding and tail-gating many cars. She didn’t listen, and thus she got my car rear-ended. My car had to get a new exhaust system and get the rear bumper fixed.
My question is these repairs on my car, will they lower the resale of my car and most importantly effect its performance (gas mileage, power, etc). I mean obviously, in the first accident it was exterior work replacing (where the right side of the body was replaced, and on the second accident it was the rear bumper that got replaced, but the exhaust system pipe (the only internal work done) was replaced as well, since it was sagging low and was dented. I want to know if the replacement of the exhaust system pipe would overall affect the performance of my car whatsoever. Lastly, I want to also know if the repairs on my car were replaced with original/oem parts. I mean on the first accident my insurance (Erie), covered the costs, from a insurance approved auto repair shop. I mean for the price of the repair, they have better put in originals parts, since i even had to pay a $250 deductible. as for the second accident, the guilty driver had progressive insurance (that piece of crap of insurance who wanted to pay the minimum in costs to repair my car. they quoted that the damaged their client did to my car was worth about $800 dollars, when the auto repair shop that was approved by my insurance quoted the damages to be worth about $1,300. i got mad,and told them i wanted orignals put in my car, and that they pair my auto shops quote. After its repair, i started to notice that my car looks a bit uneven, in regards of the side it got fixed in the first accident and from the second accident, the rear bumper looked uneven and the exhaust system pipe on the right side of my car looks differently shaped ( i have two exhaust system lead pipes on my car left and right). The original pipe of my car is pointy on the side of the tip, but the one they replaced is not pointy, but rather circle like. What should i do?
Yeah, it looks a bit misshaped to me, when I look at it and observing for long, especially the rear bumper.
