Hi. I wаѕ wondering hοw thеrе аrе ѕο many tickets fοr sale аt second-hand websites such аѕ StubHub. Iѕ thе system basically revolving around people staying up late οn thе day οf ticket availability οn Ticketmaster, etc, buying a batch οf tickets, аnd thеn selling thеm mаrkеd up??
Theoretically, anyone annoying enough tο dο such a thing сουld mаkе money thіѕ way, rіght?
If mу understanding іѕ valid, thеn thіѕ system οf ticket-selling іѕ really messed up.
Thanks!

yup, stubhub is pretty much a legal ticket scalping website to buy and sell tickets. kind of the same as going on craigslist to buy or sell your tickets for more/less. they go buy what everyone else is selling/buying them for. it’s annoying, but it’s legal!
StubHub is just another way for Ticketbastard to get more of your money.
I can’t say the reasons of everyone, but as far as sports events are concerned, many season ticket holders sell some game tickets because they may not be able to attend, or they sell off some of the tickets to defray their costs.
Dear bballler92,
My name is Jeffrey Kline from StubHub’s Executive Customer Care Department. I read your post and understand you have a few questions regarding StubHub and the tickets available for sale on our site. I will answer your questions as best as I can.
It might first help to explain that at StubHub we are fans like you and created our marketplace for fans to come together to buy and sell tickets. As a marketplace we rely on our sellers to list tickets for sale and provide those exact tickets to our buyers once purchased. Per our User Agreement and Fan Protect Guarantee, sellers set their own prices which vary with the demand, popularity of the event/performer(s), seat location, etc. Our sellers primarily are individuals who purchased tickets to an event but then are unable to make the event or season ticket holders selling tickets to games they cannot attend.
If you have any further questions or comments about our site, please do not hesitate to contact me at yourfeedbackmatters@stubhub.com ATTN: Jeffrey, with your name and contact phone number. I will respond directly and look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for considering StubHub!
