When I tried to upgrade from Windows XP to Vista before, my computer crashed and I couldn’t get it to come back on. See, what happened was I had 2 different windows on it. So, how do I keep this from happening again, while trying to upgrade Vista to Windows 7?

I have windows vista home premium and want to upgrade to windows 7 ultimate. Can i buy the windows 7 ultimate upgrade or do i need to buy windows vista ultimate and then buy windows 7 upgrade or do i have to buy windows 7 ultimate the one that doesn’t say upgrade on it?

I just want to know whats the cheapest and easiest way to do it.

I have been running the windows vista disk defragmenter and my hard disk space is gradually DECREASING as it runs.. Is this normal? Is it something to do with it creating lots of system restore points? How do i get this space back after?

Also how long is it expected to take?? Ive been running it for about 5-6 hours so far? Is it recommended to stop it and use something else, like a 3rd party defragmenter?

Thanks,

Rob!
