I currently have Verizon Yahoo On Line Security with Norton antivirus. I think I saw somewhere that in December this is no longer going to be available. Is there any really good security software (for viruses, email, etc.) that is free?

I have about 5 months left on my norton internet security software and I’m getting a new laptop for school. I currently have a windows vista laptop and I’m getting a brand new laptop for school, a windows 7 laptop. The college requires every student to have an windows 7 laptop.

I have recently built an amazing computer and i have mcafee security on it, but I have been wondering if there is anything better, and when i mean better i want something better, dont recommend anything just because you need it, if you know what i mean. I want a good security software that does everything, i dont mind if i have to use a couple i jut want my computer super safe.

Im asking 2 questions: 1st What do you think is the best security software to buy for Dell laptops Inspiron 600m bought2004 that will not disturb connection or harm my laptop hard drive.

live.pirillo.com – Should security software be run on a Mac? In short – yes. Never assume you are 100% safe. Mac enjoys security through obscurity. Your chances are less for infection than with Windows, but there is still a risk there. At a minimum, you should run a firewall to ensure you won’t be exploited. An anti virus program is a good idea, as well. Remember, surf smart and educate yourself about security issues.

I currently use kaspersky internet security 2010, however, I am thinking of switching when my license expires.

I am wondering what is the best current internet security software.

Some people say MSE/avast/windows firewall, but the reports I have seen say they are mediocre and ok for free but the commercial can be better.

It must have a 3 user license at least, preferably 5.

Whats the difference between security software and Anti virus software?
ive just been told i have a virus will McAfee Security cover it or do i need to get anti-virus Software?
virus is spyware

I am looking for the ultimate combination of security software. It can include any type of security software, firewalls, ad blockers. Money is no object as long as they are all utilities for home users (no commercial security suites). Right now, I have Norton Internet Security 2010, Threatfire, and MalwareBytes Pro. The person to offer up the best combination and reasons supporting their choices wind the 10 points.

A short video that shows how the last ZeroAccess update is able to kill running security software and prevent them from working again. Link to the blog post: blog.webroot.com
