To sum up without great detail, we have a 2 year lease with our former owner. She lost the home to foreclosure and it was sold at auction to a new buyer 3 weeks ago. A broker representing this owner (who is someone who buys houses, fixes them up and resells them..) told us we needed to leave but I told her I have rights. I know they want us out but I have a right to finish my lease time.
So I provided her a copy of the lease and since I had already paid June’s rent to the previous landlord I told her that I would not pay two rents for June.
She did not contact me for a few days then the other day stuck a 3 day notice to my door while I was out of town and told me to pay for June’s rent or get out.
My question is this: My lease still says the name of the former landlord. Are the new owners required to write me a new lease since technically the information included on my lease is now no longer valid. (eg. Landlord name, address, etc..) I do not feel comfortable turning ANY money over to someone that I do not technically have an actual lease with..what to do?
Also, my lease states that pool and water and yardwork is paid by owner but this past month I had to pay it myself since the new owner did not transfer anything yet..can I request to take that off?

In a house I recently bought, we have a metal bath tub..the steel or cast iron kind (I don’t remember exactly what it is), but anyway, it’s a light blue color and it has places on it that the color has rubbed off or faded and the previous owner painted over the front of it with the same paint they used on the bathroom walls. I was wondering if there was a way to paint the entire thing properly, with the right kind of paint so it looks a bit more appealing when we go to resell the house. I don’t really see myself in the position to replace it for quite sometime, but it drives me crazy that the rest of the bathroom is getting re-done and the spotty tub doesn’t fit in. Any advice? Other than to replace the tub..please understand, right now there are a million things that are a neccessary priority right now and I won’t have the funds to replace the whole tub until much later down the road.

There is a laptop (DV3000) that I want, but it cost about $1,200. I can get one (with no screen, no memory, no hard drive) for about $150.

Obviously it will require some work and that sucks, but I was thinking it might be worth it to buy, if only for the learning experience of how to take apart a computer and put it back together again.

I don’t know how to repair a laptop screen yet, but if I buy it I can learn. And then if I can fix it then I’ll have gained some valuable knowledge worth at least $150, right?

And if I cant fix it no harm, I can resell it for what I paid for it.

What do you think?
its not about having a laptop-I have two already.

I just dont want to buy a new laptop, and “learn” on it and then damage it.

I want one I can take apart and if neccesary, fuck up beyond repair (in the name of learning) and I’d rather not destroy one I already have that works.

I already found a replacement screen for 29 dollars. The hard drive/memory is easy to replace.

Plus its still under warranty…so if I can replace the screen last ditch effort I can just send it back to hp and let them fix it. but they wont fix it if it doesnt have a screen.

I went to Wal*Mart today to buy some pre paid cell phones. The person at the cell phones department refused to sell me one because I’ve been buying one cell phone from them daily (I buy to resell).
